By Union Fire Company No. 1 December 20, 2010 At 1734 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Engine and Tanker to assist the Quarryville Fire Company (Company 5-7) on a reported Building Fire on Liberty Lane in the Kirkwood section of Colerain Township, Lancaster County.

Chief 5-8 (Rawlinsville) was the first to arrive reporting a working fire in a two car detached garage with fire impinging on a nearby house.

Engine 5-7-4 arrived and crews quickly went to work extinguishing the fire.

The Engine Companies from 21 assisted at the scene with fire suppression and overhaul.

Tanker 21 was utilized as the Nurse Tanker at the intersection of Liberty Lane and Maple Shade Road. Responding Tanker dumped their water into Tanker 21 which was then pumped to the scene via Engine 5-7-2.

All of the Oxford units were back in quarters at 1939 hours.

Engine 813 (Rising Sun, MD) and Tanker 22 (West Grove) transferred to Station 21 during the incident.
