I was listening to the Columbus Zoo security channel on my scanner and heard "a report of a signal 12". Does anybody know what a signal 12 is? It sounded like a missing child, but I am not sure (that would be strange because it was an hour after closing time). Also, are there any other known signal codes?

Furthermore, if you have a digital scanner, you can sometimes hear the Zoo/Zoombezi Bay EMS units on Liberty Tac-1 if the fire department has been called on a run. They have a few 800MHz radios and use them to direct the medic to the correct location and to provide the paramedics with advance patient information.

Wow, thanks for all the info! Unfortunately, I do not own a P25-capabale scanner and therefore cannot listen to the COIRS talkgroups.

Thanks 16b (LOL).

I like their Signal 1. There is Dangerous and then there is Seriously Dangerous. I think dangerous would be good enough for me.

If it can harm a human, it's dangerous. If it can eat said human, it's seriously dangerous.
