Trying to run two different scanners on same computer using Proscan. Both instances of Proscan are in separate directories and working fine. I want to stream both scanners but not enough comm ports. Can I use a multiport USB plugged into a single USB port in the computer thereby adding comm ports? Need one comm port for each scanner to communicate and additional comm ports for the USB sound cards. Does this make sense?

I see you have a SDS200. You don't need to use a serial port with that model. The LAN connection will carry the serial data therefore freeing up a serial port. Also if streaming the SDS200 audio, I would use the LAN connection for the audio too. The audio is crystal clear because it's PCM digital all the way from the scanner to the end point.
