Has anyone taken apart a COMPACtenna to see what's inside? And even better taken apart multiple versions to see that the difference (if any) is?

A few years ago somebody posted pictures of one that was disassembled and somebody else posted x-rays of one.
Search the forums here and on qrz.com. I don't remeber which pics where on which forum.

I have one for "scanner frequencies," presumably UHF-VHF-700 Mhz.-800 Mhz. and it works as well as any other brand-name antenna I use for monitoring. I always remove it from the NMO mount on the roof of my SUV before I go through the automatic car wash. I don't want the NMO mount ripped off my roof!

Sorry, I never had to disassemble or cut it up.

I didn't know QRZ forums were not viewable without being logged in.

The US Patent document has diagrams.

The pictures of the one cut apart on QRZ.com are either the dual band or triband version. They showed crappy construction of what appeared to be two piece of solid copper wire about 3" long attached to the NMO connector center contact. The top end of each wire is connected to what looks like a roll of copper foil and black tape. There is some pieces of foam and JB Weld or gray epoxy holding it together.
