• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a .ctb file I need the contents of. I would be willing to pay someone to do it for me. It should just be 5 channels and the info with it. Thank you.

I assume you're inquiring about the contents of a MotoTRBO codeplug file that you can open yourself provided you have the MotoTRBO CPS software installed on your computer? What specifically are you looking for in the codeplug?

Thank you. My company updated to windows 10 and now we cannot open cps. I am just trying to get the contents from the file so we can program our motorola radios. The ctb file won't open on windows 10 our IT guy said.

You can tell your IT guy that he's full of crap! MotoTRBO CPS1/CPS2 most certainly does run on Windows 10. How were planning to program your radios if your IT department won't install CPS?

Maybe he is. He is probably a moron. Just telling you what he told me. I know our company does have CPS and we have 100s of motorola radios that are setup for our repeater system. He said since windows 10 he's unable to open CPS. I could get it working but I'm not there to do it.

I am trying to program radios I have bought for my crew, but I need the contents of that file to do so, they aren't motorola. Those radios cost alot and the company won't buy them for my crew. Our truck radios are programmed but I need my guys in the air to be on the same channels. Without that, we must use 2 different radios, truck radios and cheap handhelds. My handhelds can be programed but I need the info. We have 9 channels. 1-4 I have already programmed into mine, but 5 through 9 are setup for our repeater network and I don't know howto scan to find that info. I'm a lineman and we pull wire on large transmission jobs and without the repeater I cannot reach across our current job which is 4 miles across.

Call your local Motorola shop, they will be glad to read a radio and can also install Trbo CPS on any device you own. Other things you need to know: Most Moto software requires that the user of the computer BE AN ADMINISTRATOR for the software to run correctly. Tell your IT guy to please buy a clue.
