This may have been discussed already but is CPDLC readable by hobbyists, and if so, how? I see that there is going to be an increase in CPDLC route clearances etc in my area, and would like to be able to "listen" in, as there will be less to actually hear.

There is also a decent amount of related stuff that can be heard/decoded via satcom. It takes a ~3m dish and some other hardware components as well as some software ninja skills.
I the meantime, you can check out:

acars.adsbexchange.com/

May not cover Nova Scotia, but this is basically an aggregate of decoded aviation data ACARS, VDL2, HFDL, IMARSAT, IRIDIUM, etc... that is decoded and shared by a group of feeders.
