Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I like the older MOCOM/MOTRAC style mic heads and wanted to re-use them on a more modern radio such as a spectra.
I was curious if anyone has taken older style mic heads i.e. the dark green Mocom ZMN-6022A or Flesh Colored/Red Button TMN-6013A and transplanted a spectra cable into the head? I am in the process of mapping out the wires to solder to the older ones. Any guide on the pin assignments would be great. Thanks

Check batlabs.com for all kinds of info on Motorola hardware, new and old. I have found extensive resources there including pin-out's and schematics for the radios I am working with now. You will likely find the same.

Yes, most all Motorola mics have the same type of amplifier in them. In your case all you need is the cord from a Spectra mic so the connector is correct.

Motrac/ Mocom/ Micor and Mitrec and Syntor mics have this color code.

Red Mic hi
Blk Mic lo
Green PTT
White PTT return

Cool!, Got it working!,good audio and the Dark Green "ZMN" Mocom Mic looks real good with the spectra connector. I soldered the spectra green and blue wires together to see if I get the HUB/Off hook (CSQ) function.

Unsolder the green and blue wires, that is going to get you nowhere. You need to connect the blue wire to the back button of the mic somehow. Maybe a small hole and tap a screw into it. Or pry up on the inside where the button is flared out, insert the wire terminal and peen it gently back into place.

Woops,
That's right, the older Mocom mic does not have the blue attached to the button. I'll modify that and it'll be good to go. Thanks
