It might just be a code unique to Michigan (or to that part of Michigan).

* In Pennsylvania, some law enforcement agencies (Pa. State Police for example) use "3802" for DUI (3802 is the section of the Pa. crimes code that deals with DUI).

* In Florida, for example, most LE agencies use Signal 1 for DUI, Signal 7 for DOA, etc.

* In California, I believe some LE agencies use the California Penal Code sections to identify crime codes (ie. 211 = robbery; 187 = homicide; etc).

Every state is different as far as how they identify certain criminal offenses over the air or even how they use 10-codes.

Up in my neck of the woods (Traverse City), a DUI is referred to as a 5400-2. However, when GTSO or TCPD is doing LEIN work, such as running a file, I have heard Central call back "one prior 625". Not sure what it means, but I have heard it used before.

625 – 257.625 of Michigan State statutes Operating motor vehicle while intoxicated; operating motor vehicle when visibly impaired

These are different from the UCR codes listed in the Codes and Maps tab of the state police entry in the database sectin of this site.
