One can see that the charger is just a 'trickle' charger, the resistor limits the current.

the unit will not store memory locations above slot 127
nor will it program via the computer software.
The cable I use is good but not great like an FTDI, I'm waiting on another cable to try again.
Unit will not enter cloning mode.
trickle charger LED does not light up.
seller claims 220v charger transformer is fine for 120v, the voltage output is not excessive

sorry I forgot to mention in the post about the 3D label, it does look and behave like a legit logo.
If these radios are counterfeit it is going to be hard to prove.
but the seller has a long history of selling other radios that are counterfeit.
If go to bat I want to be sure.

Maybe check out the service manual and open up the radio and see if things match up?

http://www.narf.ssji.net/~shtrom/docs/ICOM-IC-V80-V80E_service_manual_unencrypted.pdf

But that said, I've seen some fake/knock-offs that match very closely even at the circuit level.

But regardless of that; it won't charge. I'd just chargeback and defective and work out the details from there. If you sit on this too long you might not be able to.
