I forgot to mention that I did look for both counties in the sentinel database-No luck
The info for those counties is in the Sentinel database but lacks most of what you're looking for. Here is the link for
Missoula County &
Ravalli County here on RR. It isn't much, so it just might be easier to populate the info to Sentinel with the info from the RR database.
I looked through the licenses for Missoula County, checking the licenses for notes on what the licensee intended to use them for. There is an LTR trunked system listed in Missoula County, but it's likely no longer in use. The license is expired, as are all the other licenses in the county for that licensee ( Hickman), However, one of the expired licenses for Hickman includes the name Omnicom. Omnicom Paging Plus has this license, and notes on the license indicate that they handle Two-Way sales & service:
FCC Callsign WQSL790 (Omnicom Paging Plus LLC)
www.radioreference.com
That is in Missoula. Maybe one of the wrecker companies acquired their radios from this entity. I would suggest programming the frequencies on the license in a conventional system. Maybe you might catch something, maybe not.
It's also possible that they are using cell phones, or one of the PTT apps on cells.
Other than that, if you can put your SDS200 in your vehicle, and get close enough to an accident or other incident that would require wreckers, you might be able to sniff something out via Close Call.
In Ravalli County, I found this license:
FCC Callsign WPBM753 (STEPHENS, THOMAS)
www.radioreference.com
This is noted on the license:
| WE ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF WRECKED OR BROKEN VEHICLE REMOVAL FROM PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY. RADIOS ARE USED TO EXPIDITE AND ALLOW OR INCRESE THE SAFETY OF THIS OPERATION. |
---|
I guess they did not get any bonus points for spelling.
Here's another, in Ravalli, that states that they "provide communication services to the public".
FCC Callsign WPLW456 (AMS Spectrum Holdings, LLC)
www.radioreference.com
Another license for this one:
FCC Callsign WPRF362 (AMS Spectrum Holdings, LLC)
www.radioreference.com
States that they provide paging (on this second license).
You might try programming these frequencies in a convention system as well, and see if you get any activity of interest,
Good luck
