I would like to express my sympathy to the family of Detective A.J. Schroeder of the Cleveland Police Dept who was shot and killed shortly after midnight on Thursday and to all the members of the Cleveland Police Department for their tremendous loss.

I was at the scene about 1/2 hour after it happened. It was extremely a sad and dour atmsphere.

I'd met John on a couple of incidents and he really was a genuinely nice guy.

He'll be missed.
