• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I think this is old news, but I just noticed it on the district application map.

Do they "double-up" on another dispatch channel, or do they have their own TGID that is unlisted. I have my 396 set on just scan not search, no i would not know.

Anyone lend me a voice on this?

Im pretty sure the last time I looked at the application map there were 7 districts.

Yes they double up on the channels 99% of the time eg. 1 and 2 district share A1, 3 and 7 share A3, 4 and 5 share A4, 6 and 8 share A6. :)

8 District was established after the radio system channels were mapped out. It is almost always paired with 6 District; if not, then one of them will move to C6 (or as Police might call it, 6C - they tend to do the reverse of Fire and EMS in channel naming).
