I know the contest isn't quite over yet, but how's it going?

I'm running 100 watts and a wire ground plane hung in a tree for 10/15/20m. Have worked all continents but it's been rough going! Frustrating when you're calling someone who's S9+10db and they CQ right back in your face. :)

Tough going on 40 yesterday, could hear them... they couldn't hear me. K index was 5 maybe had something to do with it. Better conditions on 40 today.

Anyway, 10 opened for the contest like it always does ;).

Final total for me 55q's, 15 zones. Only 2 Europeans, 2 Africans, 4 Japan. No VK/ZL. Nobody was really very loud on 10 meters at all, 2 Qs there. Looking forward to Sweepstakes CW !

Final total for me 55q's, 15 zones.

180 Qs, 21 zones.

Only 2 Europeans, 2 Africans, 4 Japan.

Not a lot of EU, but it was there. I made EU contacts on 5 bands. 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10. Only 2 for Africa, D4C and 6W1RY. No JA, unfortunately.

No VK/ZL.

Slim pickings here as well.

QSO: 7000 PH 2016-10-30 1057 KS3D 59 05 VK4KW 59 30
QSO: 7000 PH 2016-10-30 2134 KS3D 59 05 VK6NC 59 29 (long path on 40m!)

I was hoping to do better than that.

Nobody was really very loud on 10 meters at all, 2 Qs there.

Location, location, location. ;)

I don't know what was up but 40 meters on Saturday night had a terrible noise level. S9+ all night sounded like a train engine..:(
Did ok with limited time to play. Had 223 Q's 27 Sections. No VK's but had a couple ZL's and 6 JA's. South and Central America were loud on the high bands and Europe/Africa was loud on 40/80 when you could hear anything on 40. I wish I had more time on Sunday because all of a sudden everything was open.. I have to plan better for the CW test.. Hope I can do much better.
Had an R5 Vertical for 10-20 and a OCF for 40-80 at 100 watts.

I put in about 30 hours for my first major DX contest. I finished with 303 QSOs and 125,771 points and 173 multipliers.... I don't know how that will stack up this year, but last year (with far better conditions) that score would have put me in 24th out of the about 300 entries into the SOAB Rookie category.

I picked up quite a few ATNOs including Senegal, ZD8W, and the Vatican!

My best band BY FAR was 15m..... 20m was almost worse than 10m (but 10m was very good for 0 sunspots)!

With 0 sunspots, the bands were better than I expected (but not great either).

My country total surpassed 100 this weekend.... I did not think that I could talk to over 100 countries after being on the air on HF just three months!

I had a BLAST!
