Listening to Tulsa Trunk System, Talk group ID 42416, OHP Troop C Turnpike Channel 1. Haven't heard a location yet but there was a wreck and a guy was in the water. He was able to get out of his car and swim to an island. Troopers called for Lake Patrol to get a boat out to get him. None were close enough so they decided to wade out to him with a basket. They have 2 birds on the way and have northbound traffic shut down. I'll post more if I can get a better location of the incident.

The guy jumped from the bridge over the Arkansas river on Highway 69 to avoid being hit by another car! Although the story below from ktul.com doesn't say it, he was flown to the hospital.

Muskogee - The wintry weather conditions turned deadly for one person in Muskogee County Friday night after a horrible accident killed at least one person and stranded dozens of others on the highway for hours.

It happened on Highway 69 just north of the Arkansas River. A Muskogee County paramedic saw the accident happen around six o'clock Friday evening.

When paramedics arrived, they saw one semi truck jackknifed with two cars in the middle. Witnesses say a man jumped off the bridge and into the water to avoid being hit by a car.

Paramedics rescued the man and we're told he is fine. But, a 24-year-old man was not so lucky. He died in the crash.

Altogether, paramedics say two semis and five vehicles were involved. They cared for eight patients, all of which refused treatment at the scene.
