CS700 DMR TestMode

Anyone familiar with the evil "TestMode" component found in the Connect Systems software for the older CS700 HT? By lots of research I finally got it enabled after editing an ini file, but now that I have it available in a drop-down menu in the programming software, I can't make it work. My goal is to slightly increase the mic gain...so I don't have to shout at the radio.

TestMode shows that the mic gain can be changed, and a lot more, but I'm stumped. It will not cooperate. CS is silent about this on their web site, their programming manual, and their not-so-wonderful shop manual for this radio Thanks.

Jerry at Connect Systems could probably help you out with that. It's not too hard to get him on the phone or exchange an e-mail with him. They have responded to several issues I came across quickly.

Hey, Tom.

I tried your suggestion (thank you) and got a fast couple of responses from Jerry. No joy. He finally threw in the towel, and said he vaguely recalls people having the same problem...and that the software just didn't work.

So, there is no way to set mic audio on the CS700. But if I talk really loud, at it, it is OK. Fortunately, the radio was a gift from another ham. I have no $ in it.
