I ad the pleasure of sitting in one of the suites at a Broncos game this year and I noticed that in addition to Denver PD officers there were a couple of CSP Troopers also guarding the field. What freq/TG do they talk on when they are at the game? Also why do they have them there - isn't that out of their jurisdiction (at least from the reports that CSP doesn't even write tickets in Denver?

Often times, neighboring agencies are invited to do some of the uniformed security for these kind of events. Not sure if that's the case here or not, but you'd be surprised how many hours of time are worked by our LEOs in uniform while 'off duty'!

CSP, in an overtime capacity, escorts the Broncos from Dove Valley to the stadium, and also to DIA for away games, because of the cross-jurisdiction travel routes. The team also hires them to escort visiting teams' buses. They are invited in to the sidelines by the team as a courtesy/thank you.

Actually normally the CSP troopers are part of the away teams motorcade from DIA I believe.

They are all off duty working an extra job and can do so statewide.

Please see my "inside-information" post above. :)
They are indeed off-duty, but they only provide the escort for the team buses. Denver PD has the exclusive for inside and outside the stadium.

At one time, I believe Troop 6A (Golden), had the "corner" on that detail, but that was some years ago - maybe Troop will chime in?

And yes, normally you can hear the escorts on the CSP Statewide TG.

I don't think it's a secret that every NFL team employs their own security for players, owners, etc. Many travel with the team. And the league has several retired cops that work to "protect the league's interests and integrity," or in other words, try to keep the players out of trouble.

Sounds like CSP currently on Simplex 1 doing an escort and talking about Pena Blvd. Probably the Broncos leaving for San Diego?? First time I've heard them using one of the Simplex channels for the escort. They don't use callsigns just names so I can't be positive that it is CSP.
