so a few weeks ago, I was monitoring the radio and I was just wondering that trooper one is now called air one there was a high-speed chase with a foot pursuit in Hartford. The troopers were relaying to the police helicopter, calling an air one and then after a short time, air one called H and landed at Brainerd Airport.

Trooper one is not called air one. Air one is called air one.

This is potentially outdated info, but last I knew there were 2 in service: Trooper 1, which is the one everyone has seen and knows, and then Trooper 2, which was for tactical use, and is military surplus. They also had another military surplus helicopter which was shelved for future or parts use.

The units that go by Air callsigns are fixed wing aircraft. Unsure of the current number, but there were several.

There is also Eagle 1 and Eagle 2, but those are not State Police assets.
