DAMA-Demand Assigned Multiple Access

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly does DAMA sound like on a regular scanner receiver or appear on say an SDR waterfall display?

Dama sdr

Hi,

http://pjm.dyndns.org/sdr/dama.jpg shows what DAMA looks like on the SDR, you can see the bursts of it between the 'blocks' of transponder noise. In this case, it was recorded from 257.050MHz. This particular net carries 9K6 and 32Kbps traffic.
