I see in the manual that BCD436HP and BCD536HP scanners database not supported. How about the SDS100? It appears that I'm not able to read or write to the SDS100. Scanner type is set correctly. In the favorites editor I have a database open and I click on scanner read and the dialog box that comes up has column headers such as model, ESN, etc. but nothing else. When I click on ok it says to choose at least one row ... and when I click refresh nothing happens ... Works great with my 325P2 though ...

The SDS100 has the same file structure as the 436/536 so if you cant read those, good chance you wont be able to with the SDS unless were to use ARC536 or Sentinel...

Is the scanner in Mass Storage mode? BCD436HP and BCD536HP are supported in ProScan.

{edit} SDS100 is supported also. I went ahead and corrected the ProScan manual.

I did not have the scanner set to mass storage (Duh!). After doing that I'm able to read/write ... However ....

-with proscan is there a way to write to the scanner without deleting the favorite lists that are already in the scanner?

-I created a favorite list from imported systems from a read I did from a 325P2. The favorite list has both trunked and conventional systems. After writing it to the scanner I’m getting Nothing to Scan. I double checked everything on the scanner after uploading - It is set to "on" in lists to monitor, all of the F, S, & D QK’s are on, location control is set to off, service types are on, and nothing is set to avoid. Any suggestions?

Negative because the f_list.cfg contains the indexes of all the favorites list and that file will be over-written.
However their is a way. First, read the favorites from the scanner to ProScan then add one or more favorites to the ProScan copy then write back to the scanner.

See the link(or checklist) below on Nothing to Scan issues. If still Nothing to Scan and you double and triple checked everything with the checklist, then you may want to read from the scanner to ProScan using a different folder so the original will not be over-written. That will verify that your programming got transfered to the scanner when you did a Write.

I read the favorites list back into proscan in a new folder as you suggest and it turns our all of the department qk's are unchecked. In the original folder they were and still are all checked. In the original I tried toggling the check marks off and then on again and in one of the departments I left all unchecked and uploaded again with the same results. So it appears that the DQ settings are not transferring correctly?

I just tested that on a conv. and trunking system. They appear to transfer correctly.

How I tested -
1. On a conv. system and trunking system. At the system level, clicked on the Department Quick Status tab.
2. Changed a few DQK's from on to off and others from off to on.
3. Did a write to scanner.
4. Deleted all Favorites in the ProScan Favorites Editor.
5. Read from scanner.
6. Compared the current DQK's status to step 2. Found no discrepancies.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but under all of my systems on the DQ tabs, the heading says System Quick key status in favorite lists. When I change anything on this tab it doesn't "stick" after I navigate away from it and return. However, it appears that all of my DQ status tabs are mimicking the FL System Quick key tab. When I change anything on the FL System Quick key tab it shows up on each and every DQ status tabs ...
