I just noticed DC Fire/EMS analog simulcast on 154.19 [PL 77] is clearer, louder, and the annoying 'beeps' & dead air spots in the middle of transmissions are gone. Back in July of '05 user ResQguy posted that the beeps/pauses were a Motorola alarm indicating a problem with the system:

One other odd thing I noticed is that the analog simulcast now seems to match up exactly with the digital transmission, with no delay as was previously present and is very noticeable on Montgomery County's 7A and 7B simulcasts.

In addition MDP is simulcasting Citywide 1, TG 16624, on 159.1500[NAC:653] in P25 mode. No idea how long it will last or why its being done.

Thanks for that update. I had removed that freq. from my listings as it's been out of use for a while. My guess would be it's been put in place to allow interoperability with other agencies in the area that don't have trunked radio systems but are P25.
