DEA 168.825 Encrypted?

Hi All;

Just confirming what I am hearing on 168.825 is encrypted? I hear bits of digital sounding audio, sometimes preceeded by a "control channel" type sound. My 996T display shows "enc"denoting digital. Just checking that I have my settings correct!

I pick up 168.825 in Buffalo NY and I thought it was the Border Patrol ??

Sounds correct to me. When it's digital non-encrypted, you should see P25 or LNK instead of ENC. ENC indicates an encrypted digital channel.

168.825 is an FBI P-25 Repeater, Not DEA. DEA is still UHF.

Thanks for the info guys, I got the "DEA" title from the NY State section on the databse here, guess that needs to be changed.
