• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I'm trying to program a P25 trunked system into a P7100ip radio with correction feature option(39) using RPM. I ran into an issue where I can't save the system I created without an iDEN set. I do not know where to find this information, nor do I know how to create it. Can someone please help me?

If it helps, I'm programming the Lower Rio Grande Valley Regional Radio System(LRGVRRS).

Thanks.

Heres some default data for a 800 mHz system.

First, open SETS, then DEFAULT CHANNEL IDEN DATA

Click NEW IDEN SET and name it.

Enter 851.00625 in BASE FREQUENCY

Enter -45.0000 for TX OFFSET (MHZ)

Select 6.25 for CHAN SPACING (KHZ)

Select FDMA FULL RATE under TYPE

This should get you running.

BASE FREQ is 762.00625

TX OFFSET is 30.0000 MHz

CHAN SPACING is 6.25 kHz

TYPE is FDMA Full Rate

Interesting theory I have not put to the test yet: Since you can program the TX offset, if you were to program an incorrect offset (not 45 MHz) then there's a chance that the radio could receive but never appear on the system, never log in, and never cause any problems.

Anyone care to test that hypothesis?

I'm not near any systems that are within listening range. Can't try it myself.

I've tried this, once the radio hears the CC it downloads the correct IDEN set(s) from the site and overrides what the radio has.

It's really only used to figure out the steps for channel scanning, once it hears a site the lovely P25 protocol fills in the rest.

Would this also work for a 800 TDMA Phase 2 system with a p7200 with upgraded r02a firmware? TIA
