• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Since DeKalb is getting ready to switch over, and there hasn't been any P25 on their 800 frequencies, has anyone looked at scanning the 700 MHz band?

DeKalb P-25 Talk groups found

Here is a list of the talk groups I've found this past Thursday and Friday. There was limited conversation, but they have begun:

30320 30403 30409 30419 30429 30449 30459 30509

30601 30802 30874 30902 30903 30904 31002 31015

31302.

The signal strength is very good with 4 or 5 bars on my BCD 396T.

Let me know how that works out, since I use Pro96Com as well, I know it decodes the P25 for the digital side, I wonder if it will show the analog side!

Larry - did you ever get a chance to tap into the DeKalb control channel?
No I didn't Mike. Been listening to the P25 on Gwinnett. I was in Chamblee yesterday, and didn't hear anything on the digital at all. Since the leaves have sprouted, it is almost impossible to hear the control channel.

I wish I could pick up anyone besides Cobb! The ONLY thing I don't like about my house is it sits lower than most of the houses in the subdivision. Gotta be able to talk the wife into a tower in the back yard! :)
