Delaware State Smartzone - Hockesson/ Winterthur sites

Do the two single sites in Hockesson or Winterthur happen to carry New Castle Co Fire Tac 3 or Fire Dispatch? How about EMS 1? I'm going to experiment with them in my Unication G5 monitoring each single frequency in a scan list in P25 conventional mode. I heard you can do that. It will be a hassle to try that from the New Castle main simulcast due to so many encrypted transmissions coming up. I was hoping this may be a good alternative. I'm also wondering if it were possible to pick up those 2 smaller sites from Delaware County, pa or even into Salem County, NJ around Woodstown/Elmer? Has anyone ever tried? thanks in advance and I'll be sure to relay my findings in the coming days/weeks. I'm also trying this experiment on my G5 using the Wilmington City site for Wilmington Fire and Police.

I do know for a fact that the Wilmington site carries all of the Wilmington services such as Police, Fire, etc. When I was traveling through DE back in early March, I heard Wilmington PD mostly on the Wilmington site. I did not hear them on the NCC simulcast though.

That would be correct on Wilmington.

Well my G5 got a couple random transmissions on Wilmington site frequencies using the amplified charger connected to a 800mhz Yagi antenna pointed to the southwest from Berlin, NJ about 33 miles away. Nothing on the New Castle County simulcast which surprises me as it is busier and propagates further. Has anyone else tried this with a Unication pager with success?

You will not get anything off the Hockessin or Winterthur Intellipeter sites. They are low powered to fill in local small deadzones. Best to just wait for the P25 infrastructure to be the system voice so you can trunk track appropriately.
