Delco Frequency Usage

I need confirmation on the use and activeness of the following frequencies in Delaware County. If they are not in use, I would like to delete them from my scanner when I reorganize the frequencies.

506.1375/509.1375 (Mutual Aid, PL 141.3)
508.3125/511.3125 (Concordville Fire Company)
453.7000/458.7000 (Eddystone Fire Company)

Based on monitoring you "Could" delete the following,

507.8625/510.8625 (Ridley Township Fire Ops)
151.040 (Marcus Hook Police / Public Works)
500.3625 (Radnor PD Car to Car)

All of the others have been heard recently but note that most are not high power like county radio. The radnor channel likely is mobile-mobile but you had better be within that area to hear it.

The Ridley Ops channels are actually 2 simplex channels, not a repeater setup. They licensed them just before making the decision to go to Fireboard, so they never use them. They still use 500.6500 for a private channel.

33.90 (Radnor Twp Fire Dispatch) I never heard this used but I beleive I am out of range from what I understand Radnor is not dispatched on 46.48/508.2375 and uses 33.9
156.240 (Aston Police Car to Car) Currently used low power RX
151.040 (Marcus Hook Police / Public Works) I havn't heard this in use in a long time but most of the 80 series cars have a VHF private channel and National (155.4750) I guess for coordination with PSP, DSP etc.
500.3375 (Radnor Tac M7) Currently used probally one RX in Radnor (Radnors old Disp)
500.3625 (Radnor PD Car to Car) Out of range for me but this is a simplex channel.
159.3900 (Trainer Police Secondary) I havn't heard this in use for awhile.

Alot of stuff you will not hear with a handheld scanner and rubber duck antenna, and alot of stuff is simplex that you have to close by to hear.

Just to add...it seems as if the generally accepted PL tone for the Fire Police channel in Delco is 110.9

Rose Tree Fire is active when there's a fire. It's a low power/lline-of--sight issue. And actually not very interesting listening, imho.

Radnor M7 uses a PL of 141.3. I'm wondering if this channel is suppose to become Mutual 7 once Sector 7 goes in service.

IIRC, this was Radnor PD's pre-DelCOM dispatch channel, which is more than likely now used as a talk-around channel.

Does anyone know what 154.280, 170.150 and 154.430 are? They are license to the county. I'm thinking maybe 154.415 is really 154.430 for UD since 154.415 isn't listed on any of the county's licenses? Or something different altogether?

154.280 is the National Fire Calling interop channel. 170.150 was a temporary channel I believe. 154.430 was also I believe used temporarily but you can't really use it in Delco because Camden County uses it for dispatch (tones are CSQ, voice has a 192.8 PL).

154.280 was being used along with 155.475 as regional interop channels for the Philadelphia UASI area encompassing counties from SE PA and SW NJ (and maybe New Castle Co, DE) and for the SEPARCTTF.

For a while, the PA counties of Philly, Bucks, Montco, Delco, and Chesco were doing radio checks between comm centers on one or both of these frequencies. I have not heard anything for a while related to that project.

Chesco can be heard talking to Lancaster Co periodically on 154.280 to coordinate mutual aid calls.

154.280 is widely used across SC PA and the entire state of MD for county to county coordination of mutual aid responses. That use has not really taken off here in the Philly area, yet.

170.150 was used for a few months in 2006 as the paging frequency until it moved down to 154.205
Don't look for that freq to return.

It would be nice if they got rid of 46.480 and used something like 170.150 for tones.

I hear radio checks between Delco, Chesco, NCC, and some county in MD, probably Cecil, on the ITac channels on 800MHz. That might be why there's no one on 154.280 anymore around here.

Maybe, although they were at one point check 155.475, 154.280, and the 800 national channels. It's only in the last few years that all the counties in the region even got licensed on the VHF freqs. Who knows. Half the time, the dispatchers turn this stuff down at the console anyway (at least in Montco)...especially 155.475 since it is prone to intermod and unwanted distant comms.
