I thought Broadcastify admins could not delete audio per Lindsay's @blantonl's post here. I have noticed on a certain feed I listen to that HUGE audio file times, like whole hours, are missing in action. It is just a ham radio repeater, nothing "sensitive" info there!

Am I wrong in this thinking? I have a feeling whoever runs the stream requests deletions to hide evidence of jamming and such.

@franks_ham - Why would you think it is a conspiracy rather than feed going down? You are making accusations of deletions with no evidence what so ever, there are a number of issues that can (and do) cause these gaps. Happens to my feeds at times too and I can assure you I do not request it, nor does Broadcastify do it, it is simply equipment or computer issues.

In the particular case I'm talking about, the audio was there for about 30 minutes before it was deleted. A whole hour block at times just disappears a while after being "posted". The repeater has been plagued with issues for a few years now and it's getting worse. I use the archives to listen to what has happened while I'm at work so that I know what others are talking about.

I see a few that are missing. Maybe they lost internet, or whatever program they use had an error.
Without contacting the feeder directly, it would be impossible to tell any reason as to why
See the problem is, the time I specifically mention was definitely there, and then this morning when I woke up it was gone. The "feeder" is the illicit "control op" that isn't an actual control op for the repeater and has hijacked the machine. So it's very suspect that it's MIA and I thought only the ADMIN ADMIN's of RR/BCastify could delete that stuff.

Also waiting to hear if there's an answer. After I send the feed data, my part is done. It's write protected from me just like everyone else.

Thank you. Good to know that my suspicions are correct! Very strange...

I use the calls platform primarily for playback (because I have multiple scanners) and I went back to listen to a call last night and it would not playback. When I tried to download I got a string of characters with denied somewhere in the string. The call was about pedo stuff which the only thing I could think is there is something in some algorithm that blocks keywords from playback. It was ONLY that call that was missing, the initial dispatch call, the officers checking in for the call, but then the call with the details are missing, then the officers “in route” responses are there. The only thing that makes me think it’s an algorithm is it was instant. There wasn’t 30 seconds from the time I heard the tail end of the call and tried to play it back.

I know absolutely nothing about Broadcastify or the calls platform or any of that, but I'd doubt something is listening to every single call and looking for keywords. Seems like that would take a LOT of horsepower. But I really have no idea.

And before anyone says anything, I'm just a moderator for the RR forums. I have nothing to do with Broadcastify at all.

I have no idea. I was just spitballing. The only reason I was thinking that was it was 3:30am I didn’t think the sysadmin would’ve been actively listening and denied access THAT fast. It was the 9 second call 7/16/2023 3:39:46 AM

Perhaps the OP should contact the feed provider directly.

As for his claims of "illicit control ops" who "hijacked" a repeater, that's not a RadioReference or Broadcastify issue.

The feed provider is one of the illicit control ops and refuses to talk to many who were trying to reach out myself included.

I doubt RR/BCast wants racial slurs and more on their recordings but hey, maybe I'm wrong about that too!

And once again, that's not a Broadcastify or Radio Reference issue. You need to take it up with someone who can actually do something about it if it's true.

Yup, you'd be wrong again. Report the date and times of the racial slurs to the Broadcastify admins and they'll take care of it.

We're done.
