Denison FD (Grayson Co) has upgraded their simplex radio system to a repeater operation. The output remains on the same frequency/tone as the original at 154.145 / 192.8. The repeater in frequency is 158.925. The new repeater went on the air today.

Yup, they sure have. And if you listen to Gainesville Fire you will hear their new Repeater hit the air as soon as Shipman Communications figures out what PL tones to use. You might also Listen to Gunter Police & Fire, they have new Assignments and a repeater soon to hit the air. ALSO, I am logging several what we called Unidentified Frequencies for various agencies across Grayson Co. As voter sites for Grayson Co. Fire. There are 6 or 7 Repeater inputs on a 156.7 PL that output on 155.9250 167.9.

Mike, I think I just popped Honey Grove PD's Digital Channel. 155.5500 NAC: 293 either its them or Fannin Co. SO's "Code" channel.

What is Gainesville FD going to? I usually only listen to them during severe weather. Are they switching from 453.950?

I've been monitoring the new Gunter licenses for several weeks but nothing yet.

I don't know if you saw my post under Grayson Co SO earlier in the month but I found out that Whitesboro EMS (155.220) is using a repeater input of 154.115. I believe you were inquiring about this frequency previously. Both Collinsville & the county are licensed on this channel.

Have you heard anything on Whitewright, PD 155.655 lately? Are they stil analog? I haven't heard them in a long time. I've programmed them in to receive digital in case they switched over.

Finally, there was some discussion earlier in the year about TXDOT in the Dallas district, particularly Collin County. I think the general consensus was that they are using nextel's. I have been picking up sporadic traffic on 47.060 over the past few months. Mostly CB type chatter so they still apparently have capability on at least low-band. I noticed one VHF Lo antenna on a TXDOT truck in Collin Co but no Hi band antenna.

Whitewright PD rarely use 155.655 anymore. City Hall used to use it, but I have not heard much lately. Whitewright PD of course is digital, everyone on Grayson Co. is.

Gainesville is moving to VHF. They have two new Narrow band licenses, One will be a Repeater which is up, just not programed. The other will be Fire Ground. Gainesville PD also have new frequencies (also 7.5 Khz Narrow band VHF) I'll give you the repeater pairs later this or next week, then when they go on the air, I believe next month I'll submit the update. They are still trying to hash out the CTCSS Codes.

TXDOT Collin Co DO in fact use Nextel. I saw a guy in a sander during the ice storm who had a Nextel and two pagers, Both Alpha's. Dallas Co. units do to I believe because they are no where to be found anywhere else.

My 106 took a dive this morning. Worked fine yesterday, tried to turn it on this morning and it would not power up. Checked it on fresh NiCAD's and another power source and nothing. Trying to get it exchanged now. Other wise it'll go to the service Center. My days is starting bad already.

I had an issue with my PSR-500 after a week or so and had to exchange it also. That was right after they came out and there were apparently still some bugs. I've got two PSR-600's since then along with the exchanged 500 and no problems with any of them.

Good to know, Thanks Mike. I'll PM you the new Gainesville Repeater pair tonight. (or just post it in this thread)
