Hello everyone. I am new to scanning and while I am mostly familiar to the DPD codes, I occasionally hear the EMS dispatcher say to EMS crew "make it a 602" or another 3 digit code. The EMS crew then repeats the number back to the dispatcher. What are the meanings of these 3 digit codes? Can anyone fill me in??

Thanks!!

I don't listen to Denver EMS myself, but I believe most 3 digit numbers are EMS staging locations where they have ambulances to keep coverage of certain locations. When one goes on a run, they try to fill those positions to maintain coverage and response times. The RadioReference Wiki (link) has some of these locations, but I don't know how updated these are.

I hope I was able to answer your question!

They also relate to the police districts so 602 for example is a posting location within DPD Dist 7 and 702 is at DIA.

Its called system status management and they are one of the few departments that use it in Colorado and often during peak times one call with cause 3 ambulances to move.
