Per Truck 8 - A neighbor reported that there are possibly 3 children home. Still trying to get a line to the rear, DPD has a car blocking the alley

Truck 8 reporting primary search is clear, fire has been knocked, crews are opening up.

All three children have been accounted for in the alley and appear to be fine. EMS will do an assessment to be safe.

DENVER - An area family avoided injury in a fire that heavily damaged their home.

The Denver Fire Department received multiple phone calls at around 11:30 Tuesday morning when a fire broke out at 37th Avenue and Marion Street. Officials say even a nearby Denver Police officer reported the fire.

Initially, neighbors told first responders they thought the mother and three children who live there were inside. The flames were so heavy in the front of the house that firefighters had to enter the rear of the burning home to save them.

When an initial search found no one inside and crews soon discovered that the family of four had left the home before the fire started to go to a nearby gas station. They returned to find their home in flames.

Lieutenant Phil Champagne with the Denver Fire Department says it took roughly 36 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No one was injured.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is helping the family find shelter.

How do they come up with 36 firefighters with the trucks that are listed above assigned to the call? Maybe I am missing something.
