Detective frequencies?

I have lapd robbery/homicide and juvenile detective frequencies programmed and I never hear anything, am I doing something wrong? Are detectives trunked? The frequencies I have here are Homicide/484.73750 & Juvenile/506.86250 and I never hear anything, is anyone picking up detectives?

I don't listen to LAPD much, so take this for what it's worth, but I think as a rule, detectives really don't use the radio that much. Most of their stuff is done by cell phone.

I hear them on the Citywide Tacs.....stakeouts I mean.

I appreciate the replies. You may be right that they dont use radios much as they are mostly investigating incidents. I do like to listen to the prostitute stings though, they can be hilarious. I guess those would be considered some kind of task force. You gotta love LAPD though they probably have one of the most interesting jobs in the world.
