Did I configure my code plug wrong?

Hi, I recently got a D878UV and configured my first codeplug. When the radio is idling on any of the channels in any zone the green analog rx led repeatedly blinks or lights up static but I don't receive any digital traffic. The 3 repeaters I have in the codeplug are all dmr marc repeaters and there seems to be no traffic at all (but the led is green with no audio). When I test with parrot however it works fine.

Basically what I'm wondering is if I configured the code plug wrong in some type of way or if dmr marc is just quiet. 310, 3, 1, 311, 312 shouldn't be this quiet?

Well, I don't know how those repeaters are setup. Usually, there are some local talkgroups and maybe some wide area talkgroups. If the repeater has a few local talkgroups, you will only hear them if you are tuned to that specific talkgroup - unless you have setup a RECEIVE group. I usually do this for each slot. Then when anyone is on any talkgroup for a given slot, I'll hear them.
Also, TAC 310, 311, etc are PTT groups - meaning they are only active when someone keys one up and then only for the length of the time out cycle.

Your radio may be picking up spurious signals from nearby electronics (PC, router, switch, etc) or the green light might be coming on due to a real DMR signal on the opposite time slot or a different color code.

Also, be sure to check your codeplug carefully. Unlike analog channels, which are fairly straightforward, there are many settings that can prevent proper DMR operation.

Every time I press PTT it transmits and then says end group call. I thought this was a normal thing. Do you have any advice? Thanks for getting back to me.

Editing to add again that these repeaters use the DMR MARC network, not BM. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Usually the green "receiving signal" light means you are hearing the frequency you programed. Hearing no audio could mean you have the wrong talk group ID, color code or time slot programed.

Or, in my case my HT is near the desktop computer. Move a few feet, & the lite goes out. But as others said if there is any activity on any other group, or the other time slot, the lite will be lit.

Like KD2QAG I too just acquired a Baofeng DM 1701 and not for life oe me can I get it to read my MMDVM hot spot. I tried everything from changing the frequency on both radio and hot spot but to no avail. I checked all over the internet for a sample even that is not there. Any one can steer me in the direction of a sample or even did one and want to share it will be most welcomed
