• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

That is MOTOTRBO.

You will need to either buy a radio and play, or talk to Motorola to see what they have in the way of an SDK and support for third party development.

Are you trying to get the GPS off the air, or out of the base end radio?

Yes is a MOTOTRBO.

I have 2 radios, but I don't know if I can send GPS position from one to the other, and how can I do that.

Then I need to know The format of the message sent.

I don't understand what are you asking "Are you trying to get the GPS off the air, or out of the base end radio?"

This radios has the GPS power on automatic by programming the codeplug.

It's pricey...

and also, I don't think the radios will send GPS data unit to unit, but rather portable or mobile to base radio connected to a computer with the GPS mapping software installed.

Ok, so I will check this info.

Motorola has a program to receive GPS data, but I think that iso not necessary. Maybe if I connect the base Station to the PC and check the Tx and Rx data I can describe the GPS data.

I will use a base Station connected to a PC and see what is appen. The I post here more info.

Thanks
