• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Does anyone know where to find the frequency that dispatches a certain department within a county? For example, if I live in Thurston County and wanted to find the frequency/channel that I could program into my scanner to hear just West Thurston Regional Fire Authority calls and not the entire county dispatch, where would I find that out.

Any ideas would be great.

I am not sure about your area, but in mine they will dispatch on the main channel, and tell the to responders to move Tac5 Etc. so what I am getting at here is they may dispatch on one Freq... and the responders will move to the appropriate Freq. for there area.

Finding the dispatch frequencies, or talkgroups, is what the database portion of this website is about.
