DMR Garbled Voice

Hi There,

New to radio scanning and DSD+ so please bear with me.

I've found a frequency near me that has a good +DMR signal. Monitoring it I see data most of the time, and occasional voice.. but when I hear the voice it is garbled, like someone with their phone in their pocket

No errors showing on the DSD log, and signal seems good.

Any ideas? I've attached a log, but the raw recording was too large to attach.

Possibly.. is there a way to tell? Did I mention I was new at DSDPlus?

Its ether Encryption or DSD is have'en a hard time keeping up with the quick on and off of the signal from the DMR transmission......

Look for a file called vc-dsdplus.event in your dsd folder. Its will contain info like this when opened with notepad.

I am pretty sure if you see this (Alg=EP KeyID) listed it means its encrypted.

Base stations do not send "on and off" signals. They are continuous carriers.

I doubt that that old version of DSD+ has any CC or VC anything.

I think the OP should start with an upgrade to 1.101

Lol, did not even see that it was 1.051.

To the OP, go here and download DSDPLUS 1.101 and the DSDPLUS 1.101 dll package. Unzip dsd and then unzip the dll's into the new dsd folder.. Not sure why they did not zip it all together...

It's Basic Privacy encryption. Says so right in the event log...
