I know that I am NOT alone, but does not alleviate my frustration about programing my TRX2. I am 85 yo and decades of experience with radios and scanners. BUT, grasping the fundamentals or programming the TRX2, so far, has escaped me.

I have been able to program using the local zip code method. However, I would like to hear a local DMR frequency which does not appear in either the Conventional or Trunked lists. By that, I guess that frequencies other than Trunked and Conventional have to be manually imported??? Is this correct?

I have tried to watch and listen to videos on line, but most have been UK related and difficult to follow. THANKS for any suggestions or references.

As they used to say, "There is a short between the radio and chair."

Thank you "Nessnet."

YES, I have EZScan installed. I haven't examined the RR db, but assumed the update would have included it, IF it were there. EZScan itself, is foreboding to learn, which I am trying to absorb.

Ultimately, I want program using the software and NOT the fast zip code method. Locally, there are not many active frequencies active and very few Trunking systems. Many of the PD and Fire departments are using the Fort Worth Regional System.

Select "preferred" under library import to pick and choose what you want, if will greatly help studying the RR database online so you know what systems are DMR. also try "digital frequency search" use google to find it. They will have many DMR and NXDN frequencies for your area.

If you want to program the radio manually using EZ Scan, or add a frequency not in the database, just go to the conventional frequencies tab, and click on NEW on the right side of the screen. When the box opens to add frequency use the drop down menu at top and select DMR (if that is what you want, based on the post above). Enter the information requested, if you do not know the slot or color code select any, once you figure out the right one through scanning you can add the later. Likewise, if you are unsure of the talkgroups select 0 which listens to all of them, once you figure out what you actually want to listen to you can change this setting, Hope that helps some.
