What radio does DMR and private calls?

If this is a question about a radio, you should direct it to the proper forum, commercial or amateur radio, if you are referring to scanners you should specify what you want to listen to as the answer might help people recommend the best scanner for what you are trying to do. Either way, your question lacks the info we need to help you.

You should also be aware that some scanners are better for scanning "not yet known" frequencies...and some are better for easy operation on known & already saved frequencies. What do you need?

Asking what kind of scanner would scan Dmr with private calls on a 900 MHz business system. The system I have scanned for many years is changing to Motorola Dmr.

I don't recall how the Whistlers handle private call DMR (they don't properly track DMR or NXDN systems, only listen to & pass traffic on the voice channels individually) but the Unidens handle tracking DMR private calls fairly well:
Only caveat is you need to make sure the 900mhz radios aren't frequency-hopping spread spectrum radios (as is the trend now with Walmart and other retailers). If they are then you won't be able to follow traffic on a scanner unfortunately

If it's a trunking DMR system then Whistler does private call much better than Uniden. When two people call each other the info are sent on the control channel and then the call take place on a voice channel and the control channel no longer sends any info about that call. Using a Uniden scanner you'll need to be at that control channel when the call are set up. Whistler scans all voice channels so it will always catch all private calls. If it's a conventional DMR channel then it doesn't matter what scanner you are using, although it seems that Whistlers DMR decode quality are better than Unidens.
