I was just a kid in 1962, but that was when mr. peg moved into the neighborhood and sat up a all night harris county gas station. The high light to end our night shift was to listen to harris county dispatch pull role call at 06:00 sunday morning. Role call was for all the surrounding county seats, I think 7, to see if every one was on duty. Very powerful stuff to a 10 year old.
