ARAPAHOE COUNTY – The Colorado State Patrol says a 15-year-old driver killed in a late night accident in Arapahoe County did not have a learner's permit. She was too young to have a license.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Arapahoe County Road 10, 0.1 mile east of Colorado 40.

The Colorado State Patrol says 15-year-old Tanya Dmitruk was driving west on County Road 10 when she lost control, went off the side of the road and went airborne. The vehicle rolled one time, hit a fence pole and then rolled again.

The Arapahoe County Coroner pronounced Dmitruk dead at the scene.

Three passengers in her car, 14-year-old Alonya Dmitruk of Strasburg, 16-year-old Genevieve Redman of Byers and 16-year-old Katelynn Urban of Strasburg, sustained minor injuries. They were all taken to Aurora South for treatment. Troopers say Urban was the only passenger who was wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers say speed and driver inexperience were most likely factors in the accident.

Troopers say Tanya and Alonya Dmitruk were sisters. Those at the scene of the accident Sunday morning told 9NEWS that their parents were out of town. We're also told that the Dmitruks have 11 children.
