I am frequently hearing DPS Capitol Police using their new "Charles" callsigns on Metro Central. Can anyone around downtown Phoenix confirm if Capitol Police are still using 460.4125?

I haven't heard them in quite some time on that channel. I had assumed that either it is very low level, low power, or the signal was electronically skewed to focus on the area immediately around the capital, preventing it from reaching out, or they had stopped using it and just put them on Metro Central, where I was hearing the Capital units.

When I have monitored the freq in the past, I was only able to receive it when mobile near the downtown area. It was certainly not a mountaintop transmitter like Metro Central.

As I recently have worked in that district, Capitol PD uses "Capitol ###" and frequently Central units who use Charles will respond where needed.

Capitol units are now "charles" units and central units are now 5xx units. They operate off of metro central frequency.
