Hello everyone and Happy New Year

Can someone kindly post the freqs for Texas DPS for the area south of Abilene (but not all the way to San Angelo) and also the Mason to Fredericksburg, TX areas.

I see a lot of freqs in the database and just wonder if someone could post the correct one for those areas.

Thank You

Bill

DPS statewide

I'm glad you asked since I see I have to update my scanners! I basically programmed TxLaw1, 2, and 3 plus the 15 or so frequencies DPS uses statewide. 159.21 and 159.2175 are repeaters 1 to 18 depending on their NAC, I programmed SEARCH for the NAC. However you may find DPS units being dispatched on whatever Primary frequency your County Sheriff uses. Ive driven through the area you asked about, and met a group of Troopers in Abilene, at Dyess AFB open house. I heard some traffic on a DPS freq (sorry wasn't looking at the radio - distracted driving, you know) . I suspect they have radios for any trunked system in your area, since here in Tyler District they have access to TxWARN. Hopefully someone with firsthand knowledge can advise you.

Bill, I would recommend doing as riflemin says and programming the main frequencies in for the entire state, and doing a code search (if your scanner can do this function). This will allow you to hear the majority of the radio traffic near you (and some VHF skip sometimes, if you don't mind hearing that).

If you truly want to only listen to what is directly applicable to that area try these:
155.4525 Abilene Dispatch
155.4675 Brownwood (which is probably remotely linked to another Dispatch Ctr, maybe Abilene)
Nolan, Taylor, Callahan, Coke, Runnels & Coleman SO frequencies will be commonly used by them.

For the Mason-Fredericksburg stretch:
155.4600 Kerrville Dispatch
159.2175 Junction (remote link)
159.2100 Stonewall (remote link)
Again, the local dispatch frequencies for the counties you're interested in are always a good choice.

I'd also put in the CLE frequencies and the air frequency from the statewide table at the top of this link.
