I have only heard the new TG 3510(new troopers assigned to the Alamo) on Site 54. The site has only one control channel frequency and no other voice channels, with an unknown location. Might be the Downtown area? Site 55 is near the TXDOT headquarters on 410 on the NW side of the city, but I have only heard Harlandale ISD, Comal County SO, and some random TXDOT guys. Site 35 is located at the Harlandale ISD Police building on the south side of town. I assume the Harlandle site has good coverage downtown but I haven't seen any trooper activity on it yet. Or I've just been missing it on that site.
Interoperability wise I would think a talkgroup on the AARRS would be better suited since DPS SA is patched to it. Also, eaiser to talk with PD Central who they will work with a lot. I know troopers have the system in their radios but I guess DPS will do what they do.
