Drake R8A help needed

My Drake has suddenly stopped all response to commands on the RS232 port...either from Telix or from Smart R8 Control 32. Any suggestions on how to cure/troubleshoot. Have verified and substituted new cable with still no response. None of the software settings were changed...all have been checked to be sure they were correct. Have even tried the reset of all radio functions by holding in DECIMAL key while turning on.

Have you tried the radio on a different computer? Possibly something is interfering with your serial port on your computer, and there may be nothing wrong with the radio. Some security software will block communications on a serial port by default. Palm Pilot, Pocket PC, FAX software, can affect serial ports as well.
