I have tried the RS 20-047 cable and driver using Windows XP and it sucks to install. I tried everything and still can not get it to work. Ive look at the RS web site and others have wrote comments that it was very hard to install. What I am trying to do is run Scancat Lite with my Pro 2055. Is there any other cable and driver I can buy for it or am I stuck with Radio Shack.

Do you have any RS232 DB9 serial ports on your computer? It would look similar to a video connector for a monitor, only it would have 9-pins, and it would be male. If so, I have the original Radio Shack #20-289 serial cable I'd be willing to sell you. It's brand new, sealed bubble pack. They used to cost around $29.00, but I bought this one on clearance.

How's $10.00 including shipping (US Priority Mail, 2-3 days)?

It looks like this:

With CD in drive and cable plugged into USB Jack, open device manager and expand comports as in pictures. Note USB to Serial Port in first picture and if unplugged the second picture.

If you have any yellow exclamation point instead, right click on it and select "update driver'. Then in the Wizard, point to the CD for the driver. If this fails, unplug cable and right click on exclamation point again and select 'delete'. Plug cable back in and observe if driver was found or follow wizard if it appears.
