We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

You certainly aren't using only DSDPlus to copy the system. You must either be using FMP or FMP as the receiver or an SDR package like SDR#.

Please describe in detail what you are using to tune frequencies as well as how you are feeding the output into DSDplus.

  1. 1. What version of DSDPlus are you using?
  2. 2. Are you using:

  • FMP24 + TCP Link to DSDPlus ?
  • FMP + VB Cable / VAC to DSDPlus ?
  • SDR# (or some other SDR software) + VB Cable / VAC to DSDPlus?

The details are important.

If using SDRSharp, make sure you have "Filter Audio" unchecked / disabled and set your bandwidth to something like 9500.

Sorry, I did forget to mention I am using SDR# and the way I am feeding the output is by using Virtual Audio Cable (Not VB-Cable) from Eugene Muzychenko.

Forget the VAC/VB stuff... why not use FMP24? It's super light on resources and you know it's going to work as intended with DSD+.

For the record, I too had issues with VAC, but VB Cable has always worked great.

Good grief. That's one heck of a blanket statement. I've been using VAC forever and have yet to have a problem with it, on three different computers.

Mike
That's great. Many others have had issues. One user solved his issues as recent as about a month ago by switching to VB Cable.

Of course not everyone will have issues, but many do. Switching almost always solves it.
