Hi,

When the event log screen shows "Enc Group call" and ends with "Alg=GP", does the "GP" indicate the system is using the General Privacy feature?

What are the other abbreviations that might be seen after "Alg=" ?

I might be completely clueless! =)

DSD+ occasionally had decode errors that are reflected in the event logs. This includes seeing things that don't make sense such as "Alg=GP" and incorrectly detecting "Enc Group call" on voice streams that are not encrypted. It also generates other odd quirks like incorrect talkgroup and radio IDs.

A bad decode isn't going to make up a nonexistent encryption algorithm.

Right you are Slicer. Unfortunately I typed GP from memory when I was thinking BP.

Does it indicate AES if they use it?
Not for DMR. This system uses AES exclusively, but DSD+ always reports "EP".
