DSDPlus DSD fast lane has gone "corrupt" Need help plz

I have had DSD lifetime for several yrs now... But I am not able to update and havent gotton an update in a while?? I would like to get up to date and running again. Thanks Dave

Hello everyone... At this time I am feeling stupid , as I cannot even remember how to run DSD... I would really like to get this gong again..

You use batch files to start FMP24 and then DSDPlus. The email method of updating stopped quite a while back and now there is a menu once DSDPlus is up and running that allows the updates.
If you can't get the program running with a version new enough to have the menu, you will likely have to send an email to DSDPlus author and request the exe files. There are a number of threads about getting everything going from scratch.

Thank you I just tried extracting the most recent update 457... last that shows up... it will not extract due to no location file....
Trying to get close to up to date..?? and then go auto update..??? Not going so well..

Is there a page I can read to get up to speed with this before fumble around too much... lol.. Maybe there is a easier way?
Am not sure of their email address but might be easier and better to start from scratch..?

You mean beyond searching RR? There is no [current] official web presense for it.

notes.txt from the most recent version is all you need.

Depending on what you updated from, 2.457 only contained DSDPLus.exe and FMPP.exe. After you extract those, you should update the base files to ensure you have all up to date files.

Make sure you read the text document inside the base file zip. Make sure to backup your files.

Hello all and thank you helping me get going again... Well I attempted to get this going again but right off the bat Things were getting messed up in a matter of a few minutes I already had 4 folders with various names,. I need some basic guidance as how to do this without a hodge podge of folders.. Yes I feel stupid and I am not even sure what to do Here is the main line on the email

I am guessing I need to go get the base files... yep tried that got a black screen..

At this time I put all of my old DSD folders into 1 single folder... not sure why I saved them but did...
I had thought that DSD had sent me the base files but not sure I did see a bunch of folders in the link I went to but I am not familiar with what I should be seeing. I am not even sure where to start on the DSD website...?? I am starting from scratch and I am not up to speed with doing this kind of software install so please bare with me!! if needed send me a link to read I am not afraid to read and learn...

I will add this info as it may be helpfull... I am pretty sure this is a update only and does not include base files tho there were files in the zip folder but I have no clue what the base would look like??

I am gonna take a guess and say I should download the DSD fast lane and go from there and put the update in that folder??

Well I tried to DL the fast lane also and just got a black screen.... Pretty sure I'm missing something here??

Odd, I clicked your link and the file downloaded. It contains all the files you need for a new installation. Your password is needed to unzip so I can post the file here if you want or can send to your email.

Try to get that going first. I do not believe you need the base files since you received a full update.

No sure where you originally posted but its here, since DSDPlus is voice decoding software.





Start with a new empty folder and use the password they sent you to extract the contents of 6qGhTEjNgH_DSDPlus2p457.zip into that new folder. I use 7-Zip for unzipping and have never had an issue. Some have had issues with win zip and or win rar.

The only real (reliably) reported issue is usually connected to people trying to unzip a password protected archive with the integrated windows zip utility. They may install a 3rd party program, and then errantly not run it.

Windows explorer does not support unzipping password protected archives.

I have quite a list of folders under my DSD+ working directory.
One is bacups of all my current data files.
A folder labeled 'TEMP' where I put my future update zip files, where I extract zip files, then copy to the work folder.
Once uesed, the zip files go to an archive of older zip files Includes base files.
Then I also have a couple folders for like tutorials and copy of the most recent 'readme' and text files. My go-to when I have questions.
Last is log files from sessions, that one could use some housekeeping.
Don't know if mentioned, but up and running, you don't want to replace ALL the new base files, just the files you need for your current version.

This is for fast lane And I have paid for this and have the code to unzip.... So without the code it is pretty much useless to those who do not have it... And for whatever it was worth my link was not working if you had read anything but that post...
