I was wondering if anyone knew of a program for the android phone that is equal or does the same thing as DSD+, or maybe SDR#. I noticed on Ebay that they have a RTL dongle that is for cellphones and I thought that would be fun to try. Does anyone use RTL dongles with their cellphones? Thanks!

I have used a regular RTL dongle attached to a USB On The Go cable with the SDR Touch app for android. The whole combination works OK if you just want to listen to NFM,WFM, AM, SSB, but there is no digital signal decoding(eg. DMR, NXDN, etc.). It will drain the battery fairly quickly, but it is a fun app to use.

After posting my message, I started browsing google play and came across the SDR Touch program, downloaded it and remembered that years ago I bought a USB cable for my phone to import and export data onto a thumb drive. I dug that out and sure enough it worked! The program is pretty limited without paying for the key, and also that it can't get DMR, NXDN, etc, but it should be good for aircraft, marine, and a few businesses around here that still use conventional radios. I guess the next step is for someone with a lot upstairs develop a program that will decode the digital modes! That surely isn't me! Thanks again.
