The Denver EEB shop handed over use (after extensive radio testing of their own) of the DU radio talkgroup on EDACS to DU personnel around 3 pm and the old DU Patch was taken down. Then DU security personnel tested portable radios from numerous locations.

Around 10 pm last night (about 5 1/2 hours ago) DU security cut-over to the Denver EDACS system and began operationally using it when signing on shift.

On Denver EDACS, you can now hear the DU channel on TG-1465 (AFS 11-071).

Radio ID (LID) listing below:

3800 is the base station
3804 - portable radio
3814 - portable radio

That's all so far. They are not very busy...

Is this on the safety simulcast? In my logging on that system, the last hit that I see on TG 1465 was on 12/8 and I see a few radios in the 3800 area affiliating with that TG but the base station (LID 3800) hasn't been used on that TG since 12/7.

Yes it was on there but maybe that was just a trial run. You are right. It looks like they came and went.

I looked at those few radio IDs to see if they popped up anywhere else on Denver Public Safety EDACS and the only one that did was 3804 and it was on TG-1465 for a couple of test transmissions (they said "DU3" on them) on different days so the two TGs are (or were) related. 3804 also came up on DPD D3 on the 5th for a test as well.

It certainly appeared that they cut over because they were conducting shift changes and including their vehicle number, officer number, mileage and radio number. Either it was just a trial run with the radios and they will be back on the air at a later date or they just were not happy with that comms solution. If anyone knows anyone at DU security, they may be able to shed some light on what happened.

Sorry that was a typo on my last post.

The other TG that 3804 popped up on besides TG-1465 and DPD D3 dispatch, radio 3804 also popped up on TG-1467 as well.

DU TG is active again on Denver Public Safety EDACS beginning at 2pm on Thursday, Dec 19 (yesterday) and is still active now.

And it looks like all of their radios are on the channel now, not just 3 radios.

So Denver Public Safety EDACS TG1465 is DU Security Ch-1 and TG1467 is DU Security Ch-3 (I heard them ID it as DU-3 on that talk group). It makes sense then that DU-2 would be on TG1466 but I will try to verify that.

Decimal TG AFS TG Name/Use Tag
1465 11-071 DU Security 1 DU-1
1466 11-072 DU Security 2 DU-2
1467 11-073 DU Security 3 DU-3

Good to know. This morning I noticed that TG 1465 also appears on Denver City Services EDACS. Also as of this morning, my 396XT is registering a "emergency alert" flag for TG 1465 on Denver EDACS only.

Are you seeing only one radio ID or are you seeing several radio IDs on the city EDACS version of the DU talk group. If it's only one then it may be a patch from the Public Safety TG.
