Duke Energy Dispatch

Does anyone know is the Union County NC (Monroe-Waxhaw area) dispatched out of Charlotte? For some reason, I think they may be dispatched from Lancaster for this area.

In Jan 2000, during a 5 day weather related power outage, I listened to a non trunking scanner, and seemed to hear more from Lancaster.

dispatch or responce is out of a power lot next to the charlotte airport, the duke, pike and williams trucks you see in the union county area come out of a power lot in matthews/stallings on gribble road, all trucks have trunked radios now on the new harmony system so there is no listening anymore

Thanks for the reply! I have lived in Charlotte for the past 2 years and have only had 1, brief, outage to endure. I sold my portable generator also.

What is the Harmony system? I"m listening to Duke Power trucks right now on the Charlotte system I've always monitored:

If you can help sort out these talkgroups I'd appreciate it. I never have spent enough time with this system to really understand it. Usually I just turn it on when there is a storm!

13312 - South Base to Mobile
12288 - South Mobile to Base
16384 - Dispatch
17840 - North
49152 - North

And these pairs I'm really not sure of:

4800 Base to Mobile
4096 Mobile to Base

9936 Base to Mobile
8192 Mobile to Base

Hamstang - I spent the majority of the day at the Duke Energy corporate headquarters today, and found someone to answer your question while I was there.

Surprisingly, the Matthews service center handles calls in the Waxhaw area, although Union Electric Coop also provides electric service in areas below Waxhaw. I would have also throught the Lancaster office handled that area, because of the proximity.

It makes me curious now whether the Fort Mill or Lancaster office handles service in my area.
