DV1 editing memory text?

I'm re-sorting my memories and I can't find a way of deleting the memory tag. When I re-use an existing memory, I can overwrite the frequency but the text is a different matter. I can ADD letters, but how on Earth do I delete them to make room for a different tag? My DV1 is not connected to a PC. Thanks.

Delete the old tag with the arrow-up button.
